Bob studied at Berklee College of Music with Gary Chaffee and Joe Hunt. He went on to study privately with  Billy Cobham and has worked with John McLaughlin, Larry Coryell, Ralphe Armstrong, Mike Stern, Randy Brecker, Stanley Clarke, Darryl Jones, Jean Luc Ponty, Dean Brown, Alex Acuna, Airto Moreira, Ric Fierabracci, Brandon Fields, Chet Catallo, Jamie Glaser, Steve Weingart, Ada Rovatti, Mike Miller, Ben Shepherd, Dian Moreira and Billy Steinway.

Bob Holz and A Vision Forward Featuring Jamie Glaser and Ralphe Armstrong

Bob Holz and A Vision Forward featuring Jamie Glaser and Ralphe Armstrong is a jazz/fusion band consisting of Bob Holz on drums, Ralphe Armstrong on bass, Jamie Glaser on guitar and Billy Steinway on keyboards. Bob has a new CD released on MVD Audio titled Live In New York and LA which features Brandon Fields, Mike Miller, Ric Fierabracci and Ralphe Armstrong.

Bob Holz:  Bob was a member of the Larry Coryell Trio appearing at major venues such as Blues Alley in Washington, D.C. He began his career in Boston attending Berklee College of Music. He went on to study with Billy Cobham in New York City at   Drummers Collective. Bob has shared the stage with Larry Coryell, Robben Ford, Les McCann, David Fat Head Newman, Cornell Dupree, Maria Muldaur, Dr. John and George Clinton/ Parliament Funk. His first album titled A Vision Forward featured Larry Coryell, Steve Weingart Randy Brecker and Mike Stern and was release on July 8th, 2016 on MVD Audio. Bob’s musical approach to drumming along with his compositions provide a perfect foundation for the musical explorations of fellow band members Glaser, Steinway and Armstrong. 

Ralphe Armstrong: By the time Detroit bassist Ralphe Armstrong was just 20 years old, his touring and recording accomplishments were beyond what the average musician strives a lifetime to achieve. 

Son of legendary visual artist/musician/composer/poet/storyteller Howard “Louie Bluie” Armstrong, Ralphe came from a musical family. 

In 1974, 16-year-old Ralphe had just finished his musical studies in classical and jazz at Michigan’s Interlochen Arts Academy. In the next few years, Ralphe went on to tour and record with an endless list of illustrious names including Mahavishnu Orchestra, Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention, Herbie Hancock, Jean-Luc Ponty, Santana and Beatles producer George Martin.

Ralphe’s sophomore CD project, released in 2015, Detroit Rising is a CD that encompasses Jazz, Rock, Fusion and the Blues all rolled into one wonderful listening experience.  

Jamie Glaser – Jamie  is an American guitarist best known for his guitar work on popular television shows like Seinfeld, Saved By The Bell, and Married with Children. He has recorded and toured with Bryan Adams, Jean-Luc Ponty, Chick Corea, The Manhattan Transfer, Lenny White, and Gloria Trevi. 

Billy Steinway – Billy is an Los Angeles based keyboardist who has worked with Stevie Wonder, Joe Bonamassa, Annie Lennox and The Jazz Crusaders.
